Dandy’s World is a multiplayer mascot horror game developed by BlushCrunch Studio and released on June 14, 2024. It takes place in the mysterious Gardenview Center, where players work together to explore eerie locations and face terrifying enemies known as the Twisteds.
The game blends cute mascot characters with intense horror elements, creating a unique and unsettling experience. It is designed for players aged 9 and up due to its challenging mechanics and spooky atmosphere. The latest ALPHA 0.6.1 version, updated on January 29, 2025, is available to play on Roblox. I have played this game online on my laptop, and you can also access it for free. It requires a laptop or computer with an internet connection and an active Roblox account.
There are two options for players: you can join a public network to experience multiplayer gameplay with others or host a private session through the Private Server option in the server tab. This allows for either an open online experience or a controlled game session with selected participants.
If you are under the age of 9, this game is not recommended, as it involves complex tasks and frightening elements that may be difficult or unsettling.
This guide provides an in-depth overview of the gameplay, mechanics, characters, and community aspects, helping both new and experienced players better understand the game.
Game Mechanics
When players enter the game for the first time, they start in the Lobby as a Toon. They can choose between two characters, Poppy or Boxten, before stepping into the game world. The Lobby is the central hub where players can select their Toon, customize their Toon Skin, and collect Trinkets. It also tracks progress on Mastery and Twisted Research.
The Lobby has different areas: a store called Dandy’s Store where players can buy Toons, Trinkets, and Skins, a Roleplaying Mode entrance on the left side of the spawn area, and three Elevator shafts leading to game rounds. Only eight players can enter an Elevator at a time, and once the first player steps in, there’s a 15-second countdown before the doors close and teleport the players into a round.
Starting a Round
Once inside the game, players get 15 seconds to adjust their loadout. After that, all players spawn inside the Elevator with their chosen Toons and Trinkets. There is no limit on how many players can use the same Toon. The game then generates a map for the first Floor, placing Machines and Twisteds.
The number of Machines and Twisteds increases as players progress through Floors. At the beginning, there are four Machines and two Twisteds, but stronger enemies called Main Character Twisteds won’t appear until at least Floor 5.
How to Play
The goal is to survive as many Floors as possible while helping teammates. To move to the next Floor, players must fill Machines by extracting Ichor. This is done by interacting with a Machine and pressing the Interact key (E). While extracting, a Skill Check may appear. In this mini-game, a bar moves across the screen, and players must press the space bar or the “PRESS TO SKILLCHECK” button at the right moment. If successful, the Machine fills faster. If failed, the Machine briefly stops, and nearby Twisteds are alerted.
Players start with three Hearts (Main Character Toons have only two) and a Stamina bar. Sprinting depletes Stamina, which slowly refills when not running. Taking damage from Twisteds or using certain abilities removes a Heart. Losing all Hearts means the player dies and can either spectate or return to the Lobby.
The game also rewards Ichor based on the number of Floors survived, encounters with Twisteds, and collected Items. Players can also earn Ichor during the round by completing Machines, using abilities, or collecting Research Capsules. Hearts can be restored by finding healing Items.
Panic Mode and Elevator Escape
Once all Machines are filled, Panic Mode begins. During this phase, Twisteds move faster, though players can slow them down using the “Suppression” card. Players have 30 seconds to reach the Elevator. If time runs out and a player is not inside, they are instantly eliminated. The Elevator closes early if all surviving players enter before the timer ends.
Toons, Abilities, and Items
Each Toon has six stats: Health, Skill Check, Movement Speed, Stamina, Stealth, and Extraction Speed. They also have special abilities that help them or their teammates. Active abilities can be triggered by pressing the ability icon near the item inventory or pressing the F key.
During gameplay, players can find helpful Items and Tapes, which can be traded for supplies at Dandy’s elevator shop. Some Toons need Tapes to activate their abilities. Research Capsules found in the game add 1% Research to the Twisteds in that round. Toons also have dialogue lines they say when completing Machines, using abilities, or finishing a Floor. If multiple players with different Toons survive an odd-numbered Floor, they may have a conversation.
Dandy’s Shop and Card Votes
After completing a Floor, one of two events occurs:
- If the next Floor is even-numbered, Dandy’s Shop opens, offering three randomly selected Items. You can purchase them with Tapes, but only one of each item per round. If you skip shopping three times in a row, Twisted Dandy may appear.
- If the next Floor is odd-numbered, a Card Vote takes place. Players choose one of three cards, and the most-voted card applies effects to the game.
Earning and Using Ichor
Players collect Ichor by completing Machines, using abilities, and performing tasks. It is the game’s main currency and can also be bought using Robux. Ichor is used to unlock new Toons, Trinkets, and Toon Skins from Dandy’s Store. Some Toons and Trinkets require completing specific challenges before they can be purchased, such as finishing a set number of Machines or researching certain Twisteds.
By mastering these mechanics, players can work together to survive deeper Floors, unlock powerful Toons, and explore new strategies!

My Favorite Toons in Dandy’s World
I’ve spent a lot of time playing Dandy’s World, and these are my absolute favorite Toons! Each one has their own special personality and abilities, making the game even more exciting.
Boxten
Boxten was the first Toon I played as, and honestly, I really like him! He’s a purple music box with a cool blue bandana and a serious look, but deep down, he’s just a little nervous and unsure of himself. Boxten doesn’t talk much, but he always tries to cheer up his friends, even if he’s not sure what to say. His ability to extract Machines faster is super useful when playing in a big team, which makes him great for collecting Ichor.

But if you’re playing solo, it’s a bit tricky because his strength depends on having good teammates. Even though he worries a lot, I think Boxten is awesome because he reminds me that even shy people can be really helpful!
Poppy
Poppy is the complete opposite of Boxten – she’s loud, cheerful, and always has something to say! She’s a light cyan bubble with a ponytail-like bubble on the back of her head, and she wears a pink dress with matching socks. She loves fashion and always makes sure she looks good while running from the Twisteds! Poppy’s ability lets her move faster when she loses a Heart, which makes escaping a lot easier.

She’s great for new players because she doesn’t have any major weaknesses, and she’s really fun to play. I like Poppy because she’s confident and isn’t afraid to be herself, which is something I want to be better at too!
Flutter
Flutter is probably the most elegant Toon in the game. She looks like a small, winged creature with a light, airy design, almost like a glowing fairy. She moves super fast and has really high agility, making her perfect for escaping dangerous situations. Unlike Boxten, who focuses on extraction, or Poppy, who balances everything, Flutter is all about movement. She can dodge Twisteds easily, which makes her a lifesaver in tough situations.

I like playing as Flutter because she makes me feel quick and unstoppable – like I can outrun anything!
Glisten
listen looks innocent but can become really scary when things go wrong. If you don’t watch out, he’ll turn hostile and attack! Playing with Glisten means keeping an eye on him at all times beacuse he has some extra level of ego. I like Glisten because he keeps me on my toes, and I enjoy the challenge of managing his mood.

His design is also cool, with a creepy-yet-cute vibe. Plus, when he turns, the game gets intense, making every moment feel thrilling!
Shelly
Shelly is super tough and doesn’t go down easily. She’s great at helping other Toons because she can take hits and keep going. Trinkets like Pop Pack make her even stronger. I like Shelly because she makes me feel like a hero, saving others while staying in the game!

Her resilience makes her perfect for risky plays, and she’s one of the best choices when facing aggressive enemies. Playing as Shelly gives me confidence, knowing I can hold my ground!
Shrimpo
Shrimpo is always angry and causes trouble for Dandy and friends. He’s one of the hardest Toons to play because he’s super slow and easily spotted. If you want a challenge, you have to be extra sneaky and use Trinkets like Speedy Shoes to survive. I like Shrimpo because he makes the game harder, and it feels amazing when I actually escape!

Each of these Toons makes Dandy’s World exciting in different ways. I love testing my skills with different characters, but Shrimpo is my favorite because winning with him feels like a real achievement!
